The Bahamian government has taken significant steps to establish business connections with Ghana, acknowledging that many Bahamians are descendants of slaves taken from Ghana four centuries ago.
To facilitate this connection, an Africa-Caribbean Trade Mission has been set up in Accra, aimed at fostering relationships between Ghana and the Bahamas, a nation well-known for its thriving tourism industry.
At the inauguration of the center in Ashaley Botwe, Accra, Andrew Wilson, the High Commissioner Designate of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas to Ghana, stated that this initiative marks the beginning of a new era. It allows descendants of Africans taken during the slave trade to reconnect with their homeland and contribute their talents to Ghana's and Africa's development.
